The goal of creating the Vendor Portal for SoftwareReviews was to
empower software companies with the tools and insights needed to
enhance their market presence and connect more effectively with
potential buyers. This portal serves as a comprehensive resource hub,
allowing companies to leverage valuable insights, marketing collateral,
and extensive research libraries curated by SoftwareReviews and
Info-Tech Research Group. By providing access to these assets, the
Vendor Portal helps companies craft compelling narratives around their
software products, enabling them to showcase their unique strengths
and align their offerings with the needs of prospective customers.
Additionally, the Vendor Portal offers companies the ability to
add custom content directly to SoftwareReviews, enriching the
platform with tailored information that supports buyers in making
well-informed decisions. This feature allows vendors to highlight
specific product features, share case studies, and provide additional
context that goes beyond standard listings, giving buyers a deeper
understanding of the software before making their selection.
Our team worked closely with our stakeholders and developers to come up with layouts, site mapping, architecture, and patterns that would allow users to navigate this product with ease. We took this opportunity to also update our front-end framework to Tailwind. This update to the code-base allowed our team to create repeatable components, clean code standards, and a performance-led application.
I led the team through the creation of the Vendor Portal, guiding the design process to create an application that seamlessly integrates with the existing look and feel of SoftwareReviews while adhering to the architectural standards set by Info-Tech. As the Design Director, I provided direction to ensure that the portal not only reflected the brand’s visual identity but also offered a user-friendly experience. We focused on using light backgrounds to allow the imagery and framework colours to stand out, creating a harmonious and visually appealing interface. This approach ensured that the portal was not only functional but also aesthetically aligned with the broader SoftwareReviews platform.
